The regatta pits the U.S. champion team against all of the challengers for the 34th America’s Cup for the first time. And it will demonstrate the vision that has fast-forwarded one of the oldest competitions in sport into a high-seed, innovative and modern event.

Linea di arrivo è stata fissata ad Alicudi, dopo il passaggio per i vulcani di Stromboli, Strombolicchio e le isole delle Eolie.

Andres Soriano’s Mills 68, Alegre crossed the finish line of the inaugural Rolex Volcano Race on Thursday 26th May at 10h 18m 40s CEST. The finish has been set off the island of Alicudi, the most westerly of the Aeolian Islands. The course was shortened by the race committee due to a lack of wind in the southern Tyrrhenian Sea.

During the night, Andres Soriano’s Mills 68, Alegre pulled away from the fleet, touching over 11 knots of boat speed, effortlessly gliding through the Tyrrhenian Sea. By dawn, Alegre was passing Capri, over 25 miles ahead of her nearest rival, Danilo Salsi’s Swan 90, DSK Pioneer Investments. Alegre boasts a top class crew, including Neapolitan local, Francesco de Angelis.

The Royal Swedish Yacht Club (Kungliga Svenska Segel Sällskapet, KSSS), represented by Artemis Racing, has become the Challenger of Record for the 34th America’s Cup. “We welcome KSSS and their team Artemis Racing into this role,” AC34 Regatta Director Iain Murray said.
